Facebook Tests New Meme Hub Called ‘LOL’

The social media giant has plans to create a new platform targeted to the younger generation. It has been reported that the new service called ‘LOL’ will be a hub for all things memes and gifs in an attempt to drive more teenagers to the app. ‘LOL’ will have a series of collections under headings such as “Dailies” or “For You” which will be curated clips based on the individuals interests. Users can reportedly respond to clips using reactions such as “Funny”, “All Right” or “Not Funny.” It will be interesting to see how far this new portal will go and if it will drive the younger generation to the platform. Netflix Adds New Instagram Stories Sharing FunctionNetflix has added a new Instagram stories sharing function that allows you to easily share what you are currently watching on the Netflix app. If a viewer has the Netflix app installed on their phone a “Watch on Netflix” link will appear, making it easy to watch the show displayed in the post. It will be interesting to see what other brands jump on board with Spotify, Musical.ly and GoPro already having a ‘share to Instagram’ function. Facebook Has Plans To Merge Its Messaging Services

Facebook has plans to merge it’s three messaging services- Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp and Instagram! The platforms will continue to operate as stand-alone apps, but their underlying technical infrastructure will be joined. This means that users will be able to communicate across the different platforms.
